Federation of Bengal Hoteliers Conclave - February 18-19, 2025

HORAK Team participated in the Conclave organised by the Federation of Bengal Hoteliers held in Tajpur. Hotel Associations from across the state participated over the two day conclave. HORAK President, Mr. Siddhant Sood presented the following 13-point Memorandum at the conclave, calling support for the Kalimpong Tourism: Vision 2027. Past President, Ms. Sanjogita Subba and other members shared their thoughts as well.

  1. Resolution for service of duty-paid liquor for hotels of Kalimpong as bar license clauses cannot be fulfilled in hilly regions. This will result in due revenue for the government and a win-win situation for tourists and tourism stakeholders.
  2. NH-10 solution on fast track
  3. Car Parking at two entry points to Town for Tourist Vehicles
  4. Commercial supply line for Water to combat water scarcity
  5. Cleanliness, Waste Management & Town beautification Campaign at District-level
  6. Tourist Information Centre - physically maintained and digitally available and updated
  7. Data on Tourists coming into the District to be maintained at entry points and statistics published regularly, accessible to tourism stakeholders
  8. Maintenance and upkeep of existing tourist spots and other spots in their vicinity – Damsang Fort, Lepcha Museum, Ropeway, Heritage Houses, Durpin, Pujay Dara, Delo, Tiffin Dara
  9. Develop Kalimpong as a Cultural & Biodiversity Hub of North Bengal through new tourism spaces and activities in collaboration with stakeholders and service providers - A Vehicle-free Road, Ropeway, Biodiversity park, Zoo, Skywalk, Water Amusement Park at Relli
  10. Small Well-maintained Paid Washroom Facilities at multiple points on the highway, around town and at tourist spaces
  11. Stable Electricity especially in the monsoon
  12. Proper urban planning in Kalimpong Town
  13. Pan-India Digital Promotion of ‘Brand Kalimpong’
